More House Adventures

Looks innocent doesn't it?

Earlier this week, one of the House members(who shall remain anonymous) bought a tub of pre-made cookie dough from Market Basket. Given that the cover of the tub said "no refrigeration necessary" and the expiration date was sometime in July 2009, some significant warning signs were probably necessary.

So on Tuesday, this member decided to try out the cookies and made some. The 2nd warning sign was when she ate the cookie dough, and thought it was gross. However, hope springs eternal and so it was hypothesized that the cookies might taste better baked.

So they were baked and then some were burnt. Two of us tried the burnt ones and decided they were edible, but rather unappetizing and thereby had the other 2 1/2 members of the house (FYI: Sig. others are deemed as 1/2 or 1/4 members per my own def'n).

The conclusion? Texturally ok, but taste-wise disgusting. Daphne has some better pictures of the cookies, but suffice to say that they were quite gross.

HOWEVER, as a source of hilarity, it was quite successful and so I suggested bringing these to small group on Friday as an opportunity to create memorable small groups. [As a disclaimer, all 4 1/2 members of house had eaten the cookies and experienced no bowel abnormalities, so it wasn't like we were maliciously poisoning anyone or anything]

(one of the unsuspecting sg members)

Anyway, to my extreme amusement and raltug's mild amusement, the sg members not only finished the cookies, but ate multiple ones! We also gave the cookies to the rival sg when Petek explained why I kept cracking up.

Clearly, Charis-ites in the aggregate have far less discriminating taste than 22 Upland.

End of story (I'll let Daphne post her pics and describe the taste for the curious).

^ By far, the most hilarious line of this post.

no i would say that charisites are much too nice to say anything about your torture.

you should brought your cookies to the joe small group.... they are the one small group that's not afraid to tell you how it is.

your experiment is a test of asian american passivity.

Haha, @Andrea, right now we have 2 sig. others. That night though, we just had the four of us + 1 sig. other try the cookie.
Meagan could probably be counted as a 1/4 member though I predict that this may go down in the future ^_~ due to other commitments.

WALLIS, I resent that.
I will totally resume my post on the futon this weekend.
