adventure in the e.r. (parte uno)

i'll leave part 2 for daphne since i think her p.o.v. might be more vivid.

for a day at the e.r., today was not a bad one since:
a.) i had no work.
b.) an un-busy ER at 7:30am.

anyway, so first-time driving a prius with a sick roommate to a (somewhat) unknown destination is kind of scary. i definitely had visions of crashing into a pedestrian and cars on the way to the hospital.

i now have a newfound appreciation for nurses. competent nurses that is. nurses who don't wear gloves while changing your I.V. tube kind of weird me out. also, central a.c. is overrated. huddling under a blanket towel in a frigid a.c. room when it is 90 degrees F outside does not make sense.

at the end of it all, it's humbling to realize just how important health is. a few % loss of % body water, even if it's just NaCl and H2O, is absolutely debilitating.

other lessons learned:
a) drink your water/gatorade!
b) live with unemployed roommates (or ones who work from home)
c) dehydration stinks, drink your water/gatorade!

[after we decided daphne was going to the ER]
daphne: but you have to work
cindy: oh don't worry about it
daphne: wait, wallis doesn't have to work
cindy: *blink* oohhh yeah. *goes to wake up wallis*
