what "pops"?

So last night was another entertaining night in our house with randomness shared over Rum and Coke while baby shower gift shopping online. (It pays to work at Wellesley where you become friends with custodians from Barbados who bring you back gifts). But the highlight of our evening did not come from this, nor from the mistakenly 'booster' seat that one fine lady read with an elongated oo and added another b to, nor from the rest of the house trying figure out what I was saying charade style while listerining in the midst of a 'house meeting'; it was from Daphne's door.

Daphne insists that her door "pops" open randomly.
Cindy and I stood in the hallway as she insisted on this.
I decided to pull the door close.
Cindy and I continued to stand in the hallway side by side staring at the door. Chuckling to ourselves.
It stayed shut.
Daphne complained opening the door and said, "Nooo, but look, it won't close if I try from the inside."
Daphne pushes the door from the inside.
Cindy and I continue to stand in the hallway watching the door, laughing at Daphne's persistence.
The door stays closed.
Daphne swings open the door and complains that she isn't going insane and that it really pops open- "just ask Mike- he'll tell you!"
riiiggghhhhtttt.
{an hour or so later}

Daphne shuts her door to go to bed.
Cindy decides to see if it really is shut and will stay shut so face first body slams herself into the door which under the pressure of her weight in motion (think physics people) "pops" open the door throwing Cindy flying into Daphne's room almost crashing down on her floor and startling the living day lights out of Daphne.

yea Daphne- it "pops" open. randomly. :p

**edit by daphne - for the record, i am not crazy, and cindy and petek did eventually witness the door popping open. thank you very much. hmph!

**edit by cindy - i did NOT body slam the door. i was sitting on the ground and started to apply pressure to the door. when it didn't give right away, i started pushing on the door with all my weight, which is when the door burst open with a loud noise, leading to the false belief that i body slammed the door :P. see here:

i may lack grace but i am not a she-hulk :P

**edit by Petek: ok maybe you didn't back up and proceed to throw yourself into the door, but I was definitely the one sitting on the ground looking up at you while you were standing and started to lean with your whole body into the door which might also have added to the 'looks like body slam' effect once the door burst open throwing you into Daphne's room.
