it all started in january with 6.270 -- the autonomos lego robot competition at MIT. cindy, emily, and i, all science majors, decided to take this engineering class, and we created, in my opinion, the coolest robot. if only gene simmons had cooperated in the actual contest. february marked the last ICF retreat that i will ever be on -- and the first retreat where i stayed awake through all of the speaker sessions! good thing mako is a really interesting guy, and a really great speaker. :)
march saw the end of my (very short lived, and only in D-league) hockey career, and the end of smite hockey altogether. oh, and i also turned 22, and started dating mike. :)
i went to fenway for the first time in april! laura got 2 free tickets from a club that she was in, and we went to see the yankees play the red sox! the game itself was pretty unexciting (red sox were up by a lot) and it was extremely cold, but the experience was awesome.
i capped off my smite career with a trip to college nationals in boulder, colorado. boulder is AWESOME. it was really cool playing frisbee against the backdrop of the rockies. i miss this team.
june = graduation!!! yay for lots of church friends coming (at the end) of commencement! and i finally have a degree! :)
july always means a trip up to montreal for jazzfest. jazzfest is a big weeklong event in montreal with lots of cool music -- but it is also an ultimate tournament with a bunch of smite alums. lilz flew in from hong kong, yelena came from the bay area, michelle drove from RI, and stacy came from nyc. it was a blast! other milestone in july - i started working.
ok, so this is a picture of the flat lands of arkansas. my dad and i drove from dallas to boston in august so that i would have a car (patty the prius!) up here. this is the only picture that i got from the roadtrip, because everything looked pretty much the same the entire drive up. it was the longest roadtrip i have ever been on (2.5 days!) and i don't plan on having another road trip that takes that long in a very long time. another milestone - i moved into my first apartment with cindy, petek and wallis! :)
mike and i went kayaking on the charles on a warm day in september. i'm pretty sure my arms hurt pretty badly after that day...and i'm also pretty sure mike did most of the paddling. :P
october = apple picking time! yay for fresh apples, and fresh cider, and hot cider donuts! we made a TON of apple desserts this month, and i'm really surprised that all of us at 22 upland are not 20 pounds heavier. we go through a ton of sugar and flour in this house.
doris and i roadtripped to philly to see cathy (and yang) in november! a post was done earlier about this trip. it wasn't my first trip to philly, but it was my first roadtrip in my car, and my first time to see some of the sights!
and december. this is a picture of the first driveway i've ever shoveled. it took me an hour and a half, and i am very proud of it. :) by the way, i did not end up leaving that friday (this is the snow from that snowstorm) and ended up flying on monday.hello 2009! :)
